A free Windows app from Stella Montis Inc. for discovering, installing and playing mods and mashups that join games you own.

Yes: “Melty and its mashups are free.” The Terms say all mashups are currently free and paid features would get extra terms.

Is Melty safe? Is melty.gg a virus?

Melty says every release is audited and malware is banned. An automated scanner rated the young domain 47/100 in early October 2026 and showed one unverified user complaint; we found no independent audit either way.

It is a registered company (Stella Montis Inc.) listed in Y Combinator’s Fall 2026 batch. That establishes who runs it, not that every mashup is bug-free.

Do I need to own the games?

Yes. Mashups run on games you own; Melty sends you to the store if one is missing.

Does Melty work on Mac or Linux?

The official download is for Windows only; we found no official statement about other platforms.

Can I play with friends?

Yes, on multiplayer mashups: Play gives you an invite link you can keep private, share or make public. Hosting shares your IP and port with joining players.

Possibly. Some games’ anti-cheat or online services don’t allow mods, and Melty disclaims liability for bans.

How do I uninstall a mashup?

Melty says uninstalling puts every file back as it was.

Can I make my own mashup?

Yes. Copy Melty’s instructions into Claude Code or Codex and describe what you want.

Is “game merging AI” about merge puzzle games?

Not here. This guide covers mod mashups that combine two PC games, not merge-two casual games with fruit or numbers.

Is this the official Melty site?

No. This is an independent guide, not affiliated with Melty. The official site is melty.gg.
